- Introduce and reinforce proper maintenance methods
- Emphasize potential pitfalls of poor maintenance and inappropriate procedures
- Transfer field-acquired knowledge of common problem scenarios and teach field-proven procedures for identifying and fixing problems
Course Description
This course will cover:
- Introduction: Field personnel responsibilities and tasks related to the Vision Server maintenance and troubleshooting; module objectives
- Documentation/tools overview: general review of documentation and tools at the disposal of troubleshooters; focused review of relevant sections of Administrator's, Vision Server Hardware Installation and Maintenance Manuals
- Performing hardware and software upgrades (overview)
- Software upgrade procedures (overview/review)
- Restore and maintenance procedures (overview)
- Procedural overview: generalizations, hallmarks of problems that can be fixed locally and when/how to elevate problems
- Field replaceable units (overview)
- Managing alarms / notifications while working with log files and debug scripts
