The Vision Media Gateway, together with the Vision Signaling Server, form a complete, scalable, highly available turnkey solution for service providers, network equipment providers, system integrators, and application developers who need to connect their VoIP-based services using ISDN or SS7 ISUP signaling.
The off-the-shelf Vision Media Gateway brings highly scalable and flexible PSTN-to-IP transport and signaling functionality to your VoIP network. It includes a scriptable call routing engine that can perform call routing, eliminating the need for a separate media gateway controller or application server for simple applications. Its combination of standard PSTN trunk interfaces, SIP- and JavaScript-based call routing, and support for both ISDN and SS7 ISUP signaling makes it easy and cost- effective to extend SIP-based services to users of the traditional telephone network.
As an integral part of this solution, the Vision Signaling Server is designed specifically to provide high capacity and high availability SS7 signaling capabilities for Vision Media Gateways. It combines high performance, a compact footprint, and telco-grade reliability — all in a cost-effective, 2U, rack-mount server. It connects to as many as 4 E1/T1 trunks and supports up to 32 SS7 signaling links. Depending on your service’s traffic profile, that’s enough for thousands of concurrent subscribers.
