Abstract
Signaling System #7 (SS7) is a critical component of existing telecommunications networks and emerging packet-based Next Generation Networks. Accordingly, all telecom operators, whether established or new to the market, require SS7 solutions and expect them to meet the Public Switched Telephone Network's long-standing high availability standards. Carrier-grade solutions, such as signaling systems for wireless networks, media servers, and VoIP gateways, must be robust, flexible, and reliable.
This white paper introduces SS7 network reliability concepts and illustrates how developers can deploy NMS Communications' SS7 hardware and software to build reliable, redundant SS7 solutions.
