Demonstration Program

NMS TAPI includes the intapi demonstration program for verifying installation and demonstrating the software's capabilities. The following section describes how to use the program.

intapi [options]

where options are:
Option

Description

-l[line_number]

Specifies the line number of the TAPI line to use. Default = 0.

-?

Displays instructions for using intapi.

Procedure

Note: Before running intapi, make sure that NMS TAPI is configured appropriately for your NMS board, and that a handset is connected to the board directly, or through a CO simulator or PBX.
To run intapi:

  1. Open a command window and navigate to the directory where intapi.exe resides (typically in \nms\nmstapi\demos\intapi).

    
    
  2. Enter the following command on the command line:

    
    intapi -l[line_number]
    where [line_number] is the TAPI line number (for example, intapi -l0).
  3. Press Enter. The application reaches a Connected state. The demo is initialized and produces a "Ready to receive calls" message.

    
    
  4. Pick up the phone and dial into the phone on the TAPI line you specified. The following phone message will play: "Thank you for calling. Press 1 to record, 2 to play, and 3 to hang up."

    
    
  5. Press 1 to record a message.

    
    
  6. Press 2 to play the recorded message.

    
    
  7. Press 3 to disconnect the call.

    
    
  8. Hang up the phone to disconnect.
