2.4 AG Board Configuration

Before using the AG Access library, all AG boards in the host computer must first be initialized. As discussed in the AG Access Installation Guide, the agmon utility program reads a configuration file and initializes each board identified therein. In general, the configuration file contains the following information for each board residing in the host:

Each AG board is identified with a Board directive. The board directive defines an ID which is used by the application whenever it opens a port. For example, if the configuration file specifies Board 0 as an AG-8 at address 0x2c0, the application specifies board ID 0 when it opens a port on the AG-8.
