2.6 MVIP Streams

Data is routed between the DSP and line interface via MVIP streams. As discussed in Section 7.3, Opening Ports, the MVIP mode instructs AG Access to map multiple timeslots to a single port.

The data is routed from the line interface into the port's DSP in one of two ways: the route is either nailed-up by agmon, or the route is established by a switching package.

Certain boards with MVIP interfaces do not contain a switching element (refer to the Hardware Reference Manual for your particular board for switching information). For such boards, for example the AG-60 and AG-24, the stream connections must be configured by agmon.
