2.3 About AG Board Configuration
- All AG boards must be initialized before an application using the AG Access library can communicate with them. As discussed in the AG Runtime Configuration & Developer's Manual, the agmon utility program reads a configuration file (ag.cfg) and initializes each board identified in the configuration file. In general, the configuration file contains the following information for each board residing in the host:
- A control processor program (e.g., sysan.run)
- DSP programs (e.g., signal.dsp)
- Telephony network protocols (Trunk Control Programs, known as TCPs)
- MVIP configuration parameters
- Each AG board is identified with a
Board statement in the ag.cfg file. The Board statement defines an ID which is used by the application whenever it opens a port on that board. For example, if the configuration file specifies Board 0 as an AG-8 at address 0x2c0, the application specifies Board ID 0 as an argument to adiOpenPort when it opens a port on the AG-8. For more information on configuring AG boards and using agmon, refer to the AG Runtime Configuration & Developer's Manual.
