2.5 About MVIP Timeslots

Voice and signaling data is transferred between the DSP and the line interface using MVIP timeslots. The MVIP mode argument to adiOpenPort assigns one or more timeslots to a single port.

Connecting the line interface to the MVIP timeslots can be in one of two ways: it is either nailed up by agmon at board initialization, or established by a switching software package such as SwitchPath.

Certain boards with MVIP interfaces do not contain a switching element. For example, the stream connections for boards such as the AG-60 and AG-24 must be configured by agmon. Refer to the documentation for your particular board for switching information.
