4.1 Introduction

Call progress analysis monitors inband energy to detect network tones, voice, and other tones such as modem or fax terminal tones. AG Access' call progress analysis capability enables an application developer to manage low-level call control directly. This ability can be useful when working with the null protocol, NOCC.

Use following two functions to manage call progress analysis:

To...

Use...

Start call progress analysis

adiStartCallProgress

Stop call progress analysis

adiStopCallProgress

Note: The resources and algorithms employed for call progress analysis are those described in Chapter 3. Because the call progress analysis behavior is nearly identical to the call progress analysis performed as part of AG Access' call control, only the differences are described in this chapter. Call progress analysis is affected by the parameters stored in the ADI_CALLPROG_PARMS structure.

After invoking adiStartCallProgress, call progress analysis generates tone and voice events as described in the following sections.
