2.2 System Requirements

Since the MC1 board is used with additional MVIP-compatible boards, the exact system requirements depend on your system configuration. There is usually only one MC1 board in a PC although as many as four can be installed in one chassis. A typical PC should have: One available 16-bit ISA bus slot. At least 6 MB of memory (excluding operating system requirements). A 25 or 33 MHz 386DX, 486, or Pentium microprocessor. One of the following operating systems installed: Windows NT 3.51, OS/2 Warp 3.0; UnixWare Release 2.1; SCO UNIX SVR3.2 OpenServer Release 3.0 or 5.0. An uninterruptable power supply (UPS). Although a UPS is not strictly required, it is strongly recommended for increased system reliability. Note that it need not power the PC's video monitor.
