Installing Digital CAS Software

This chapter describes how to install Digital CAS protocol software under Windows NT, OS/2, and UNIX. Note: Before installing a new version of protocol software over an existing version, follow the uninstall procedure for the existing protocol software. Refer to the documentation for the existing protocol software for more information about the uninstall procedure.

To install one or more protocol software packages under OS/2: Insert the OS/2 Installation Disk or a specific country into your floppy drive. Open an OS/2 command window. Make the floppy drive your active drive and enter: install When prompted, remove the Installation Disk from the drive and insert the Product Disk. Follow the prompts as appropriate for your system.
If you wish to install more than one protocol software package, repeat this process for each software package. When you have finished installing protocol software, edit the AG software configuration file. For information about editing the AG configuration file, refer to Chapter 4.

To install one or more protocol software packages under UNIX, follow this procedure: Insert the UNIX Installation Disk for your specific country into your floppy drive. Open a terminal window, and from a supervisor account, enter installpkg. The installation program starts. At the prompt, remove the Installation Disk from the drive and insert the Product Disk. Follow the prompts as appropriate for your system. The installation program copies software files the Product Disk to the specified drive.
If you wish to install more than one protocol software package, repeat steps 2 and 3 for the Installation Disk of each package that you have. When you have finished installing protocol software, edit the AG configuration (ag.cfg) file as described in Chapter 4.
