About This Manual
The
Digital CAS Protocols Installation & Developer's Manual
describes how to install Natural MicroSystems
digital channel-associated signaling
(
CAS
)
protocol software
on your system: software that allows Alliance Generation AG-T1/E1, or AG Quad boards to communicate across T1 or E1 trunk lines using channel-associated signaling protocols.
Specific protocols covered in this manual are:
CCITT
Multi-Frequency Compelled R2
based signaling (
MFC-R2)
European Digital CAS (EUC)
Pulsed E & M
signaling (EAM)
International Wink
Start
(IWK)
Signalling System 5
(SS5)
System R1.5
(R15)
The manual also describes how to build CAS protocol call control applications using the Natural MicroSystems CT Access application programming interface.
This document is targeted to developers of telephony and voice applications who are using the CT Access programming environment. This document defines telephony terms where applicable, but assumes that the reader is familiar with telephony concepts. It also assumes that the reader is familiar with C programming.
