About This Manual


The Digital CAS Protocols Installation & Developer's Manual describes how to install Natural MicroSystems digital channel-associated signaling (CAS) protocol software on your system: software that allows Alliance Generation AG-T1/E1, or AG Quad boards to communicate across T1 or E1 trunk lines using channel-associated signaling protocols.

Specific protocols covered in this manual are:

The manual also describes how to build CAS protocol call control applications using the Natural MicroSystems CT Access application programming interface.

This document is targeted to developers of telephony and voice applications who are using the CT Access programming environment. This document defines telephony terms where applicable, but assumes that the reader is familiar with telephony concepts. It also assumes that the reader is familiar with C programming.
