3.1 Introduction

This chapter lists procedures for installing the AG Connect board driver software under OS/2, Windows NT 3.51, SCO OpenServer 5 and UnixWare 2.1. To install the software, follow the procedure for your operating system. This chapter also describes how to change your configuration after installation, and how to remove the driver software from Windows NT, SCO OpenServer 5 and UnixWare 2.1 systems. Note: AG Connect and AG Connect With Ringing boards share the same driver software. If you have already installed driver software for AG Connect With Ringing boards, you do NOT need to install any additional software for AG Connect UNLESS your software is a later version than the installed software. To determine what software versions you have, check your diskette labels.
The installation program will ask you for the following information: The base I/O address(es) of the AG Connect board(s) you have installed. For more information on setting the I/O addresses, see Chapter 2. The encoding scheme the board will use in your application: the scheme by which the board will compress and expand the dynamic range of input signals. The AG Connect driver supports two encoding schemes: µ-law (MU-law) - the scheme in standard use throughout the United States and Japan; and A-law - the scheme in use in Europe and Latin America.

Note: AG Connect and AG Connect With Ringing boards share the same driver software. If you have already installed driver software for AG Connect With Ringing boards, you do NOT need to install any additional software for AG Connect UNLESS your software is a later version than the installed software. To determine what software versions you have, check your diskette labels.
