5.3 Programming Tools
- You can use the SwitchPath C function library to configure and control your AG Connect board programmatically, or the SW Utility to control it manually or with scripts.
As shown in Figure 1, SwitchPath functions interface to the AG Connect board driver, which in turn controls the board.
SwitchPath is a separate NMS product which may not be included in your driver software package. To order SwitchPath, contact NMS. For more information on SwitchPath, refer to the SwitchPath Technical Reference Manual.
- The SW Utility is a stand-alone program which you can use to control
switching and conferencing. It can operate interactively, allowing you to
enter commands one by one on its command line. Alternatively, it can
operate in batch mode, reading commands from a script. Batch mode
operation makes the SW Utility quite useful for system initialization.
If you have SwitchPath, you can access SwitchPath functionality through the SW Utility. For example, you can create scripts that define the named logical groups of channels to be used in your SwitchPath applications. The SW Utility can then configure your system when the system initializes.
The SW Utility is automatically installed on your system whenever you install software for NMS switching products (such as the AG Connect board). For more information on this utility, refer to the SW Utility User's Manual.
- There are two special SwitchPath commands available for use with the AG Connect board, to get information on the types of line interfaces on the board and to set the gain at a line interface. For details, see section 5.7.
