3.7 Verifying Compatibility

ctaGetVersion returns the version, build date, and compatibility level for CT Access. The version information returned can be used for reporting to Natural MicroSystems what revision and build date you are using.
Because CT Access is dynamically linked, your application needs a way to determine if it is using a compatible library. The compatibility level is increased if any release includes changes that require applications to be recompiled.
The ctavers utility verifies the CT Access installation and displays the version information for CT Access components. Refer to Section 13.3.2, CT Access Installation: ctavers for more information.
