2.1 Introduction
- NaturalText 1.0 is a CT Access service that provides functions for:
- pausing, resuming, and jumping within spoken text
- modifying the sound of output speech
- filtering input text for target words and phrases
- preprocessing English e-mail text so that is can be appropriately spoken
- NaturalText operates as the TTS service within the CT Access environment. CT Access is part of the Natural Access series of software products that provide a way of managing telephony and media functionality in computer systems. The NaturalText API provides a way for CT Access applications to execute text-to-speech functions on Diva daughterboards attached to AG boards.
- NaturalText applications use CT Access functions to manage events and contexts, and ADI Service functions to establish and disconnect calls. They also use a special set of TTS functions to perform tasks related to text-to-speech conversion. Figure 1 shows how the TTS service fits into the CT Access architecture.
