2.6 NaturalText States
- Figure 2 shows NaturalText state transitions visible to applications using text-to-speech. You can obtain the current status of a context of text-to-speech by calling ttsGetStatus.
- Notice that calls to the functions ttsSetGain, ttsSetPitch, and ttsSetSpeed cannot be executed while speech is paused on a particular context of text-to-speech. These functions can, however, be executed while speech is idle.
- The following applies to functions in the TTS API that don't manipulate speech:
- Applications can call the functions ttsGetStatus, ttsLinkUED,
ttsUnlinkUED, ttsLoadUED and ttsUnloadUED for any open context of
text-to-speech, regardless of whether speech is active, paused, or idle on that
context.
