3.1 Introduction
- This chapter summarizes the functions in the NaturalText API according to the tasks they perform. For a description of the NaturalText programming model, see Chapter 2, NaturalText Programming Model. For more detailed information about specific NaturalText functions, refer to Chapter 4, Alphabetical Function Reference
. The NaturalText API enables applications to:
- Set and change speech characteristics
- Filter text with User Exception Dictionaries
- Preprocess e-mail message files and buffers
- Check text-to-speech service status
