1.7 Activating NaturalText Licenses

NaturalText licenses are controlled with security software which is keyed from a password. Before you can use your NaturalText software, you must activate your licenses by specifying your password in the license configuration file.

Your password specifies the number of licensed text-to-speech ports allowed on your system. Opening NaturalText will fail if you have not set up a license configuration file with the correct password. Although the password is generated based on the serial number of one of the AG boards in your system, NaturalText can run on any AG/Diva board set in your system that is running NaturalText firmware.

The license configuration file is specified by the NMSLMFDB environment variable (e.g. c:\nms\licenses.txt). Passwords are thirteen (13) characters long and may contain letters A through Z and/or digits from 0 to 9. Passwords are case insensitive.

Your password is provided by Natural MicroSystems. Call NMS Developer Support with the following information:

Developer Support will provide your password.

To activate your NaturalText licenses, create or edit the license configuration file (file specified by the NMSLMFDB environment variable) to add your password. If you have more than one password, put each password on a separate line in the file.
