This chapter describes how to install AG ISDN software under Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0, OS/2 Warp, UnixWare 2.x, SCO UNIX 5, and Solaris 2.5 or later.
To install AG ISDN software for a region, you will need the following disks:
To install the AG ISDN software, insert the Install Disk and run the installation program on the disk. When prompted, insert the Product Disk. The installation program extracts from the Product Disk the version of the AG ISDN software that is correct for the region.
To install an AG ISDN software package under Windows NT:
The installation program starts.
(Non-USA packages only) You are asked to specify the countries to install.
(Non-USA packages only) You are asked for a "default country." The file for the country you choose will be duplicated, and the duplicate named isd.par. This file is used by the inoutcta and inoutadi demonstration programs (described in your AG ISDN for Natural Call Control Developer's Manual).
(Non-USA packages only) isd.par is created.
The installation program copies files from the Product Disk to the installation directory on the host.
If the installation program detects previously installed files that are newer than the versions contained in the package, it asks you whether to install or skip the files in question. Typically, you should not overwrite newer files.
This file contains important information on the installed files and on how to use the software.
To install an AG ISDN software package under OS/2 Warp:
The installation program starts.
The installation program copies the files for all countries from the Product Disk to the installation directory on the host.
If the installation program detects previously installed files that are newer than the versions contained in the package, it asks you whether to install or skip the files in question. Typically, you should not overwrite newer files.
(Non-USA packages only) When copying is complete, you are asked for a "default country." The file for the country you choose will be duplicated, and the duplicate named isd.par. This file is used by the inoutcta and inoutadi demonstration programs (described in your AG ISDN for Natural Call Control Developer's Manual).
(Non-USA packages only) isd.par is created.
This file contains important information on the installed files and on how to use the software. This file can be found in \nms\agaccess\doc.
To install an AG ISDN software package under UnixWare 2.x or SCO Unix 5:
The installation program starts.
(Non-USA packages only) You are asked to specify the country to install.
This file can be found in /opt/nms/agaccess/doc.
Note: AG ISDN runs correctly on Solaris 2.5.1. If using Solaris 2.5, install patch #103094-01 from Sun MicroSystems.
To install an AG ISDN software package under Solaris:
su
ps -ef | grep vold
pkgadd -d /dev/diskette0
The system processes the disk(s). Then it displays the following:
"Installing ag ISDN package for solaris
Please insert the region diskette into the floppy drive
Enter c to continue or enter q to quit: c
If the Installation Disk is for a region other than the United States, the following menu appears:
Which Parameter files would you Like to Install
===============================================
) aut 2 ) bel 3 ) dnk
) esp 5 ) fin 6 ) fra
) gbr 8 ) ger 9 ) gre
) icl 11 ) irl 12 ) ita
) lct 14 ) lux 15 ) nld
) nor 17 ) prt 18 ) swe
use Number to select ( eg: 13 )
'a' to select ALL,
`c' to continue completing installation
'd'Number to set as default ( eg: d13 )
or enter q to quit: 7
In the preceding example, 7 was selected, which corresponds to the file for Great Britain. The installation program places an asterisk next to the selection, as shown:
Which Parameter files would you Like to Install =============================================== ) aut 2 ) bel 3 ) dnk ) esp 5 ) fin 6 ) fra ) gbr 8 ) ger 9 ) gre ) icl 11 ) irl 12 ) ita ) lct 14 ) lux 15 ) nld ) nor 17 ) prt 18 ) swe
For example, selecting 4, 5, 9, and 12 produces the following display:
Which Parameter files would you Like to Install =============================================== ) aut 2 ) bel 3 ) dnk ) esp 5* ) fin 6 ) fra ) gbr 8 ) ger 9* ) gre ) icl 11 ) irl 12* ) ita ) lct 14 ) lux 15 ) nld ) nor 17 ) prt 18 ) swe
To remove an unintended selection, enter its two-digit code again.
For example, enter d12 to use ita (Italy) as the default parameter file.
To remove an unintended selection, enter the letter d followed by the appropriate two-digit code again.
Only one parameter file can be selected as a default at any time. You must remove an existing default setting before you can replace it.
Note: If you have not selected a default parameter file, the installation program displays the following:
W A R N I N G ! ! ! You must specify default file before continuing...Press <CR> to proceed
When the installation program completes, a "success" message appears.
The installation scripts add a table fragment to the /etc/devlink.tab file. This table fragment is not removed from the /etc/devlink.tab file during the uninstall procedure. Subsequent installations of CT Access or AG Access will detect the fragment in the table.
