7.1 intapi

NMS TAPI includes the intapi demonstration program for verifying installation and demonstrating the software's capabilities. The following section describes how to use the program.

where options are:
Option

Description

-l l

Specifies the line number of the TAPI line to use. Default = 0.

-?

Displays instructions for using the intapi.

Procedure

Note: Before running intapi, make sure that NMS TAPI is configured appropriately for your NMS board, and that a handset is connected to the board directly, or through a CO simulator or PBX.
To run intapi:

  1. Open a command window and navigate to the directory where intapi.exe resides (typically in c:\nms\nmstapi\demos\intapi).

    
    
  2. Enter the following:

    
    intapi 
    No options are required, unless you want to change the TAPI line that intapi uses.
  3. Pick up the phone and dial into the PC on the TAPI line you specified.

    
    
  4. Select the record voice option.

    
    You hear the record beep prompt.
  5. Begin speaking after the prompt.

    
    The record operation terminates after you stop speaking and you are returned to the options menu.
  6. Select the playback option.

    
    The sample you just recorded will be played back. You are returned to the options menu.
  7. Select the hang-up option.

    
    You hear "good-bye" and the call is disconnected.
