1.1 Introduction
- The TX 3220C Installation Manual explains how to install and configure a
TX 3220C board.
1.2 About the TX 3220C
- The TX 3220C is part of the TX series of telephony boards. It features a high-performance 68060 and four 68360 Quad Integrated Communication Controllers (QUICC). The TX 3220C board provides two T1 or two E1 digital trunk interfaces and a 10Base-T Ethernet connection via a transition board.
- A TX 3220C board contains the following main components:
Each board is designed to reside in a single CompactPCI bus slot.
- Trunk connectivity
The TX 3220C board supports two T1 or two E1 interfaces for digital trunk connectivity, via a rear-IO transition board. For more information, see Section 2.4, Connecting to the T1 or E1 Trunk.
- H.110 bus connectivity
The TX 3220C board provides full support of the H.110 bus specification. The H.110 bus allows boards to share data and signaling information with other boards on the H.110 bus. For example, you can connect two or more TX 3220C boards for applications that perform trunk-to-trunk switching.
- Standard 32 MB of RAM
Each TX 3220C comes with a 32-MB DIMM.
- Ethernet Connectivity
The TX 3220C board supports a 10Base-T Ethernet connection, via a rear-IO transition board. For more information, see Section 2.5, Ethernet Connectivity.
- Quad V.35 Support
The TX 3220C board supports four V.35 interfaces through a rear-IO transition board.
Figure 1 shows where these components are located on a no-interface (no T1/E1 support) TX 3220C board.
