AG Board Locate Utility: blocate

Name

blocate

Purpose

Determines the CompactPCI bus and CompactPCI slot assignments for all NMS CompactPCI boards installed in the system.

Note: If you have installed the hot swap software, you must use the pciscan utility instead of blocate. For more information about pciscan, refer to the Hot Swap Developer's Manual.

Usage

blocate [ options ]

where options are:

Description

pci_bus pci_slot

Specifies the CompactPCI bus and slot location of the board on which to flash an LED.

Description

Displays the CompactPCI bus and CompactPCI slot number for all NMS CompactPCI boards installed in the system. Also, flashes the red alarm LED for trunk 1 on a specified CompactPCI board.

Procedure

To run blocate, enter:

blocate

The output will be similar to the following:

Thu Jul 10 15:51:22 There was 1 NMS PCI card detected

BUS SLOT INTERRUPT
00 14 0xf

The board configuration is also logged to an ASCII text file with the current date and time. The file pci_cfg.txt is created in the current working directory.

To flash an LED on a specific NMS CompactPCI board, call blocate with the CompactPCI bus and CompactPCI slot locations. For example:

blocate 0 14

The following will be displayed:

Flashing LED for NMS CompactPCI board on bus 0 slot 14

The board locator LED on the board will flash.

Note

agmon should not be running when executing the AG board locate utility. If agmon is running, an error message will be generated and the utility will exit.
