Installation Notes

The installation program for ActiveAG is distributed either as a single, large executable or on diskettes (or as a set of diskette images). In any of these cases, the installation program is the same and has the following requirements:

AAG90000.gif Windows NT 4 workstation or server be installed.

AAG90000.gif CT Access 1.0 or later be installed.

It is not necessary to have any AG cards installed in the system.

If these conditions are met, the installer program will put ActiveAG, its voice files, its sample programs, and its documentation files (including this help file) on your system. It will then register the ActiveAG control on your system. Following this, you may need to restart your system, depending on the systems configuration when ActiveAG was installed. After installation (or installation and restart), ActiveAG will be ready for use with your application development software.

Important Note: The ActiveAG installer contains two versions of the ActiveAG control. One of these versions supports FAX functions; the other does not. If NMS NaturalFax software has been installed on your system before installing ActiveAG then the version of ActiveAG with FAX support will be installed.

If NaturalFax isnt present when ActiveAG is installed, then the version of ActiveAG without FAX support will be installed.

If you add NaturalFax to your system after installing ActiveAG, it will be necessary to uninstall and reinstall ActiveAG if you want to use the FAX methods in ActiveAG. Since there is no licensing scheme protecting ActiveAG this is not a complicated process.
