The first iPhone was released in 2007. The gadget became a real sensation and revolutionized the market as there were no analog devices at that time. Happy device owners shared their enthusiasm, and as a result, Apple quickly became one of the most popular and rapidly growing companies. The brand’s stocks skyrocketed, attracting both regular people and experienced investors. For over 10 years, the iPhone remained the market leader. In 2022, a new version of the gadget was released. The price depends on the storage capacity and starts at $1000 on the official website. This is a relatively high price for a smartphone. Before purchasing it, it’s worth learning about the pros and cons of the iPhone.
Key Advantages
The iPhone has a wide range of advantages. It is thanks to these advantages that the gadget enjoys great popularity among the audience, and the launch of a new smartphone version causes unprecedented excitement. The most significant advantages include:

Impeccable quality. Apple takes production seriously and considers various nuances. Thanks to this approach, the device can be called perfect. It operates without lags, freezes, or glitches. The device instantly responds to user actions.

100% exchange guarantee in case of defects. It is difficult to control every detail of production and assembly. Users may discover factory defects. Within a year, the company undertakes to exchange the device for an identical one. Users can contact any service center, where a specialist will inspect the device and provide a new one upon confirmation of the shortcomings.

Free software updates. iPhones run on the iOS operating system specifically created for the device. The updates are free. At the same time, a special store was created where additional software can be purchased or downloaded for free. It is challenging to place software in the store as it must meet high standards and comply with Apple’s policies.

High degree of virus protection. iOS is a closed file system. It is not possible to add files from external sources; they can only be downloaded from the App Store. This prevents virus infections and system malfunctions.

Simple interface. The iPhone supports a wide range of options, but developers have managed to simplify the functionality. Users can easily find files, programs, take photos, shoot and edit videos. The interface is intuitive, and users can adapt to it within a few days. If desired, it can be customized to individual needs by removing or adding specific programs and options.

Fast processors. The best components and designs are used in iPhone manufacturing. Apple devices score high in performance tests. The devices work quickly, instantly responding to user actions. Lagging is extremely rare.

Privileged features. To facilitate interaction with the gadget and simplify certain processes, the company has developed additional services such as Apple Pay, Apple CarPlay, FaceTime, iMessage, Apollo, and Drafts. Their number gradually increases, allowing users to solve minor issues with a few clicks.

High-quality photography. The manufacturer equips the devices with high-resolution cameras, resulting in quality photos and videos that are great for sharing on social networks.

iCloud. iPhones have a sufficiently large memory capacity. However, it may not always be enough for certain tasks. If storage space is running out, files can be sent to iCloud, a cloud service created by Apple. Access to files is available via the internet, and users can log into their account using their email address.

At the same time, it is worth noting the concise design and wide range of models. Buyers are offered the choice of a suitable device based on the storage capacity, and the casings are available in trendy colors. It is possible to replace them with new ones or choose the appropriate shade.
Are there any disadvantages to the iPhone?
Apple devices are extremely popular. Everyone would like to own the latest model. As a result, it seems like the brand’s products have no drawbacks. In reality, there are some disadvantages. The most significant ones include:

High price. The latest version of the iPhone 14 with the base configuration and minimum storage will cost around $1000. The maximum cost of the device is around $1400. Compared to Samsung smartphones, the price is high, as a similar device with the same storage would cost around $300-400.

Lack of expandable storage. The iPhone does not have a slot for a memory card. It is not possible to increase the storage capacity. Although there are several models available, a smartphone with the maximum storage capacity will be about 40% more expensive. Additionally, the built-in storage may not be sufficient to accommodate all the necessary files. The situation is not always resolved by iCloud, as accessing the required files becomes impossible without an internet connection.

Fragility. When purchasing an iPhone, most users immediately buy a protective screen and a case to prevent damage during use. If proper protection is not provided, dropping the smartphone can lead to expensive repairs. In some cases, the cost of repairs exceeds the price of a new device.

Inability to download and install specific software directly. Apple has implemented a closed operating system. As a result, there are difficulties with downloading software. Not all necessary programs are available in the App Store, and users may have to tolerate inconvenience and search for alternative ways to download software.

Lack of headphones and a charger. Apple cares about the planet’s ecology. As a result, the device does not come with a charger or headphones. Users need to purchase them separately or use ones from previous models.

Despite these significant drawbacks, the iPhone’s popularity remains high. It is difficult to compete with Apple’s products. Skillful marketing and high quality attract buyers. If the disadvantages do not bother you and your budget allows, you can purchase the device and enjoy using it.

The global market for Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in manufacturing was $62.1 billion at the end of 2021. Going forward, sales will grow at about 13.9% per year and exceed $200 billion by 2030, P&S Intelligence analysts predict.

As part of the increase in usage scenarios for IoT solutions, businesses are adopting artificial intelligence to analyze real-time data from sensors to help make the right decisions.

According to analysts, a key reason for the rapid adoption of IoT and connected sensors in the manufacturing sector is the rapid automation of production processes. The main idea behind the concept of “Industry 4.” is to increase productivity and reduce operating costs. The Internet of Things helps create and optimize affordable, responsive and efficient system architectures, so its adoption in the manufacturing sector is growing.

The highest growth rate of the IoT market in the manufacturing sector is expected in the Asia-Pacific Region (APAC) thanks to major government projects such as Made in China 2025, Making Indonesia 4.0 and Make in India. The manufacturing sector in this APAC is undergoing technological evolution and automation. In addition, with the growing population in the region encouraging industrialists to increase production, they are adopting IoT technologies for various processes.

Healthcare is the fastest-growing sector in terms of IoT adoption rate, according to IoT Analytics. It is followed by smart energy systems, connected cars and smart city applications. IoT spending in the U.S. healthcare sector is expected to grow nearly 39% to $188.2 billion by 2025, up from $72.5 billion in 2020.

In turn, smart meters connected to LPWAN networks are becoming the backbone of the new energy ecosystem, as remote access to energy facilities and meters with remote meter reading become increasingly important. MediaTek hosted the world’s first Wi-Fi 7 technology demonstration to show key customers and industry peers the capabilities of its future Wi-Fi 7-enabled Filogic family of solutions. The company itself has been involved in the development of the Wi-Fi 7 standard since the beginning.

The Wi-Fi 7 standard is unique in that it offers entirely new capabilities in all available bands for Wi-Fi use, including 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz. Using 320 MHz wide channels and 4K quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) technology, Wi-Fi 7 will deliver 2.4 times faster speeds than Wi-Fi 6, even with the same number of antennas. Wi-Fi 7-enabled devices are projected to hit the market in 2023.

MediaTek points out that they were able to show that a Wi-Fi 7-enabled Filogic can achieve the maximum speeds defined by IEEE 802.11be. In addition, multi-channel operation (MLO) technology was demonstrated. This technology combines multiple channels in different frequency bands simultaneously to show how network traffic can still transmit smoothly even if there is interference or congestion in the bands. MLO technology will be critical to providing faster, more reliable streaming of video, games and anything else that requires consistent, sustained bandwidth in real time.

Increased resolution of streaming video and virtual reality gaming is believed to drive demand for Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7.

ZTE has squeezed out Huawei, which was a leader in the server, core backbone network and storage solutions markets. In its annual report, ZTE reported a growing share of these segments. Traditionally, Huawei has played a leading role here, but at the end of 2021, ZTE’s revenue as a percentage grew within and outside of the PRC at double-digit rates.

Although ZTE still does not have a truly significant share of the global server market unlike its Chinese brethren Inspur, Huawei and Lenovo, the company has already reported that its revenue from server and storage solutions doubled in the first three quarters of 2021 compared to the same period the previous year. The company emphasized that its servers have the largest share in the business of China Mobile, China’s largest mobile operator, for the third year in a row. Such activity poses a direct threat to Huawei, which is still experiencing problems with access to some key components due to U.S. sanctions.

Huawei’s server revenues fell 44% in the third quarter of 2021 alone, which competitors like Inspur, Lenovo, H3C and ZTE immediately took advantage of – they all report revenue growth in the PRC in the corresponding period.

In addition, ZTE quietly began building 5G base stations based on the 7nm process. The company used Taiwanese TSMC’s production facilities to create the chips. The inability for Huawei to do business with TSMC due to the sanctions imposed by the U.S. has played into ZTE’s hands. Now ZTE expects noticeable growth in the market of base station solutions, and is also interested in one of the most advanced TSMC 5 nm processors.

But while ZTE is not subject to sanctions banning the use of TSMC’s latest technology, it is still unable to sell its base stations to many Western companies due to U.S. restrictions. This has led the company to focus its efforts primarily on China. According to sources, ZTE is quite aggressively increasing chip production and, although the volumes are still small, there has already been impressive progress.

The Wi-Fi Alliance organization has unveiled the specifications for the new Wi-Fi 6 Release 2 standard, which has improved some data and power consumption features.

Wi-Fi 6 Release 2 supports the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands and MU-MIMO – multi-user multiple input / multiple output on the uplink (data upload). Previously, priority was given to data uploads.

The new standard also optimizes power consumption and supports TWT (Target Wake Time) technology, which allows connected devices to determine the activation frequency for sending or receiving data. This helps save power.

Another way to save power consumption is to support the Spatial Multiplexing Power Save (SMPS) dynamic multiuser power saving method. It allows devices to turn off the reception of redundant data.

More than 2 billion Wi-Fi 6 devices are expected to be available in 2022. The largest hardware manufacturers, including Broadcom, Infineon, Intel, MediaTek and Qualcomm, have already announced support for Wi-Fi 6 Release 2.
